I find that when I eat fast food I wind up coughing a lot afterwards and have a lot of mucus built up in my throat that I have to keep trying to get rid of for a good 5 minutes afterwards.
And when I say "fast food"… I mainly mean if i get a greasy burger or fries. If i just get chicken strips alone, I’m usually fine.
Has anyone else experienced this? And if so, have you seen anyone about it and know what it is?
I guess I’m asking can someone have an allergy to greasy food?
And yes, it doesn’t matter if i get the burger/fries/greasy item at different places (McDonalds vs. a restaurant).
The coughing and mucus build-up would definately concern me that there may be some allergen in play when you eat fast food, but which allergen? That I can’t say.
Fast Food does contain a lot of chemicals, flavorings, additives to make it easy to store and quick cooking. It contains a lot of corn, wheat, and depending on what you order milk, and of course fries have potato. You could be reacting to the food itself (corn, wheat, milk, potato, beef) or the chemicals in it. Its really hard to say.
I doubt though that its grease related as generally that has other symptoms, unless you’re experiencing acid reflux from too much fats and then having your gallbladder checked out might be recommended.
My guess is that whatever you’re reacting to in the Fast Food is a quantity issue. Meaning you may be able to eat small amounts of the offending item, but the amount that is in the Fast Food is too much for you.
I would definitely recommend seeing an allergist and getting some testing done. If thats not feasible, then I’d start taking notes on the foods you eat and how you feel afterward. Also try different places. IE: Do you get the same issues from a greasy burger & fries at McD’s as you do at Applebees? This may help you narrow down the possibilities, and rule out some proprietary chemicals/additives that certain places (McD’s) add to their products to make them have that signature taste.
Also, next time you run into this coughing situation, keep on hand some benadryl and mucinex. It should help you get better quicker.
WHAT ARE SOME FOOD INTOLERANCE!!!!!!!SKOOL PROJECT !!!!!!!!!!!!ASAP?
Posted by: admin / Category: food intolerancehey What are some food intolerance for example celiac
If you use Celiac you could also include lactose intolerant because they affect the same structures on the intestine wall.
There is also allergy to eggs, and some people are mildly allergic to tomatoes and potatoes since they are related to the Nightshade plant which is of course a deadly poison.
