How can you test for a food allergy?

Posted by: admin  /  Category: food allergy

I think that I have a mild case of a food allergy to soy. I get all of the symptoms of a food allergy after eating soy. Every time I eat it I feel absolutely horrible. If I went to a doctor how will he test me? What kind of test is it and how will it work?

They will more than likely refer you to an allergist. Whenever you set up your appointment then the day you go in they will sit you down then they will food allergy test you. What they do is draw rows on your arms with sharpie.. Then they will stick you with a needle and inject you with a very small amount of whatever it is (such as soy)… Once they are all done then you wait a certain amount of time and then they will check the reaction and then will be able to determine if you are allergic or not!! It doesnt hurt. I have had it done when i was 5 and when i was 12.

Is this a sign of a food allergy?

Posted by: admin  /  Category: food allergy

My 6 month old just started pears a few days ago and today I found 2 little raised red bumps on her arm, kinda like eczema. Is this just a coincidence, or dry skin, or a food allergy? What happens if there is a food allergy, would the rash be widespread?

Typically a food allergy rash will be wider spread than 2 bumps and will feel warm to the touch… They are typically a red rash that looks like a light sunburn which is generally in patches often on the cheeks…

What you are describing sounds more like a clogged pore… Watch it for a day or so, put a little dap of neosporin on it with a band-aid to keep the child from rubbing it off.. It will likely come to a head in a day and go away…

With summer beginning it may also be an insect bite <mosquito most likely> if it is the neosporin and band-aid won’t hurt and may help..

Also if its dry skin the neosporin also won’t hurt and may help as it’s inactive ingredient is petroleum jelly and that will help with dry skin…
