About food allergy –Baby of 9 months old just showed the first sign of food allergy. I thought it must be?
Posted by: admin / Category: food allergyan egg yolk. She just tried it for 2 meals for consecutive days. Her skin just developed some red spots, but it has not turned to be a big red patch or make her feel itchy or bother her yet. Do I need to do anything else at this stage besides stopping giving her the suspect food and see. Also, if she can't have egg yolk at this time, would she outgrow it and being able to take it in the future with no allergy when she grows up? Thanks.
My 7 month old son is allergic to eggs. Yes, it sounds like an egg allergy. Just keep her away from eggs. The egg white actually is more of an allergy problem then the yolk, so make sure you keep her away from both. Plus keep her away from mayonaise and any other product that might have egg in it.
My son's allergist says that 85% of kids outgrow their egg allergy by 3, and that 95% outgrow it eventually. She says the best way to make sure they outgrow it is to make sure they never have ANY exposure at all to eggs so watch your ingredients carefully in bread, cookies, etc. They may have eggs in them.
Sounds like your daughter has a great chance to outgrow her allergy. Also, if you are breastfeeding, make sure that you too have no eggs in your diet. If she's on formula, there are no worries.

I shouldn't be answering this because I'm near a decade old but, I was bored so I answered a question.
I'm highly allergic to eggs, I get hives on my face. Hives:

Try searching google for somethings. Hope she feels better!

i would stop giving eggs to her for a bit and then try them a little later and see if she develops the same reaction if so then it would definately be an allergy, yes she could grow out of an allergy the same as she could all of a sudden become allergic to something she has never been allergic to before

"85% of kids outgrow their egg allergy by 3"
That's sad because it shows that humans aren't meant for eggs, yet people continue to raise their kids on them. And just because they outgrow the allergy(or at least the symtoms) doesn't mean eggs aren't making people unhealthy.
