Could my daughter have a baby food allergy or is it teeth?

Posted by: admin  /  Category: food allergy

We are just starting baby food and her cheeks have been bright red for 3 days now and she gets really fussy after she eats her baby food(pears). Shes also got two bottom teeth about to pop through. Could her teeth be causing the red cheeks?

cut out one food at a time for like a week each and see if it makes a difference. I would start with pears since that seems to upset her. It might be that she just doesn't like them. I couldn't feed my baby anything with tomatoes without him turning red like that

the only way Id think if her teeth were causing her red cheeks was if she had a fever, I would take her to the peds office or call them and see what you should do

Hm. Has she had any other symptoms besides the red cheeks? Like changes in bowel movements, being extra gassy, and other skin reactions?
..I would stop giving her pears for a couple of days and see if this subsides,if it doesn't,it's the teething,if it does. Then it's most likely the pears.

My daughter, when she cut her first two bottom teeth never fussed, for about a week her cheeks were fire engine red, no fever, no fuss and one day when I was feeding her she bit the spoon and I heard a clank! That is when I realized she had teeth, and from that point on whenever she cut one her face would look like a tomato!

    it really could be either.

stop giving her the pears for a few days and see if the redness clears up…then try her on them again. if it comes back when you give her the pears again, then talk to her doctor about a possible allergy to them.

but…..babies do get teething rashes. my son still gets really bad rashes and redness on his cheeks and around his mouth before he is going to cut a new tooth.
