How do I get a urine sample for my 22 month old son?

Posted by: admin  /  Category: food intolerance test

I need to get a urine sample for my 22-month-old son. They gave me these adhesive baggies that don’t work at all. He’s autistic so there is no way I could get him to pee in a toilet or stand in the tub. He needs to get a sample for a food intolerance test and we are having the hardest time. Please help!

We have used the baggies and they do work you just need to apply the bad around the penis only. You just lift the penis and attach under so it is sticking on the balls. If you do it right it will work fine. Also, you have three hours to get it to the doctor so just give it a try. Good luck.

Throw a cheerio in a cup and make a game of him peeing on the cheerio. Good Luck!

get them to do the urine collection at the hospital. my nephew is autistic and this is what they done when he had to submit urine for testing. they will attach the bag and monitor his urine output till they have enough.

make him drink lots of fluids, give it twenty minutes, then do the cup game trick.

Put him (his feet/legs) in really warm water and tell him to pee.

or do the cheerio idea like that person above said.

Does your son have a favorite toy, game, or movie? I know it sounds silly, but perhaps you could give him a sippy cup of water or juice and try having him sit on a “potty” while watching a movie or while you sit in front of him and play a game with him. It sounds unsanitary but you’ll be right there watching! Good luck!

Twenty-two month old, autistic son. He’s still just a baby, but surely you have had time to know to within each hour or part, more or less thereof, when he wets a diaper. Set aside a ’special urine sample day’ wherein you, your hubby and anyone else can *be on standby alert* for the time when your son, after having had his *usual* liquid intake for the morning should be expected to, within a reasonable time, WET HIS DIAPER! (DON’T do anything really unusual to cause any frightening reaction in the child!!)

Then, when the general consensus among the *waiters* is that, *the time should be near*, GENTLY & LOVINGLY take up your son and (having a measuring cup already set firmly in place) remove his diaper (or training pants?!?), and, with gentle parental care, turn him over the measuring cup with his little penis directy over the cup, and spray a gentle cloud of ‘cool water’ droplets onto his genitals — just enough to ‘excite’ them and stick to his skin — not enough to contaminate the urine sample. Then you might gently blow air onto the moistened genitals and urge your son to eliminate urine with whatever words you have used since his first “potty training”

I think that I can almost GUARANTEE that you should be able to get a REALLY GOOD urine sample from your son
