Tips & Advice On Dealing With Food Intolerances

Conquering Ulcerative Colitis WITHOUT SURGERY : Prologue

This is extremely unscripted, unrehearsed, and off-the-cuff, so please forgive the grammatical errors and the occasional realignment of the train of thought. However, I ABSOLUTELY HAD to post a video after becoming DISTRAUGHT over the amount of videos and comments on YouTube from people suffering from Ulcerative Colitis (of which I’ve been diagnosed with a chronic case). This is the response of a person who is ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED that UC can be overcome, WITHOUT invasive surgery, WITHOUT a J-Pouch, and WITHOUT living your life connected to a washroom.

  1. UCVlog Said,

    Any further videos …
Any further videos about your diet and how it works would be much appreciated. Making claims that you have kept your colitis under control through diet alone are very bold. Not that I’m doubting them, but I’d like to know the specifics. Many people claim to cure colitis through a variety of means, and you are probably aware of them, but the specifics are what’s most important.

Also, are you on any medicine in conjunction with your diet or do you strictly monitor your food?

I saw your post on …
I saw your post on twitter! Good for you! This is a public service!! Nice to see the ‘real’ you too!! I hope you are able to stay feeling healthy!

    I _will_ add that …
I _will_ add that these periods occur when I stop monitoring my food and eat whatever comes about… usually in my busy periods (work-related, travel-related). Corn starch is the usual culprit (it seems to be in more and MORE things nowadays!). But happily it’s nowhere near as serious as back in the day, and easily (and quickly) corrected. About two weeks later, I can return to eating foods with corn starch as long as I don’t eat it every day, at every meal.

    UCVlog, I will …
UCVlog, I will admit at times I have had… not full-blown flares requiring that I remain at home, but periods where I am going a bit more frequently than others, and that eating certain foods will prompt me to go to the washroom soon after. That happens perhaps twice a year, and very easily am I able to correct it once I tell myself, “Okay, now, you know what you have to avoid eating, DO IT!” Within two weeks, all symptoms are gone.

I can share a solid, recent, example in a video if you wish.

    Interesting video. …
Interesting video. If you can find relief through diet that’s great. Do you ever have flares now or have you been in remission ever since you started your diet? I look forward to more videos from you.

    Correction: When I …
Correction: When I say February 2004 in the video, I mean February 2003. My apologies. This is _REALLY_ a train-of-thought video, first take, no script, no rehearsal.
